Bengie "Sas-Squat" Molina lifted a three-run blast and drove in five runs, while up-and-coming catcher/possible third base solution Pablominable Snowmandoval added two hits and one RBI to come from behind and beat the more-miserable-than-ever Padres.
Randy Winn also notched three hits and was on base four times, raising his batting average to a team-leading .306 for the season.
Kevin Correia worked a solid six innings lasting long enough to get himself and the team one more W in a nice stretch of baseball.
Having won five in a row, the Giants now seem poised to make a run at Colorado for the third spot in the NL West. The pennant it ain't, but at least it's something to shoot for.

I know it's unlikely to think we can come from this far behind, this late in the season, to make the playoffs. No one has ever done it before.
But isn't that what they always say right before a team does something that's never been done before?
I'm not surprised to hear murmurs like this given the Giants' recent performance. Then I remember that despite winning several of their past few series, and despite this recent winning streak, they're still 14 games under .500. They got there for a reason.
Then I think, well, the team that sunk so low has a bit of a different composure now. Sandoval is clearly an inspiration, and the G's seem to have got back their "swagger." (Corny concept, I know, but appropriate.) Anyway, now it's a tough call in regard to a potential excellent draft pick vs. playing hard and winning like they've been doing lately. How they fare in this series vs. the Rockies could be telling.
Totally agree, Chris. I was the one banging the "Tank Now, Draft Later" drum, but I like to see the kids hit. Win or not, I want guys like Snowmandoval and Burriss to have as many quality big league ABs as they can possibly rack up.
That said, I hope we can find a way to let our bullpen blow leads for losses so that our starting pitchers keep their confidence as well.
In summary, score runs, blow leads, lose games, draft high.
